Our next boot camp training is coming to Modesto, CA on November 4, 2017. Sign up today to learn more about our evidence-based exercise program for people with Parkinson’s.
Our boot camp exercise class incorporates many types of activities to target specific mobility limitations that occur in Parkinson’s. Based on research from OHSU’s Balance Disorders Laboratory, the boot camp focuses on full, functional body movements using a variety of activities and equipment.
The training will cover safety considerations for working with people with Parkinson’s and exercises that may help delay some of the common symptoms of the disease. Then we’ll hit the gym to teach you how to develop a fun, group exercise class.
Our training is open to physical therapists, occupational therapists, group exercise instructors and personal trainers. For group exercise instructors and personal trainers, eligibility requirements include:
Hold a current NCCA-accredited fitness certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM etc.)
Exercise science-based (or related field) two or four year degree
Minimum of two years working with older adults or people with chronic disease
