Learn how to safely and effectively train people with Parkinson’s – and earn continuing education credit!
Brought to you by the Parkinson’s Foundation
Based on research from Oregon Health & Science University our training covers the basics of Parkinson’s, safety considerations for exercise instructors and research on the most effective types of activities for people with the disease. Then we’ll hit the gym to teach you how to develop a fun exercise class that targets the mobility problems that occur in Parkinson’s.
The fundamentals of this training can be applied to just about any type of exercise program. Whether you’re a group fitness instructor or personal trainer, this training can help you work more effectively with people with Parkinson’s. You’ll also receive a certificate of completion for participating in the training that you can use for continuing education credit.
Thanks to support from the Parkinson’s Foundation, this training is provided for free to attendees. We’ll help promote your new skills too!
Lunch is provided on site. Agenda and additonal materials will be emailed to attendees when they register.
