Class Description

A weekly live online group yoga class for people with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). Come as your are - no yoga experience required! This class is specifically designed to address common issues for people with PD and includes exercises and strategies to practice at home. - Increase strength and flexibility - Improve posture, gait and initiation of movement - Relax and calm the nervous system - Techniques to improve respiration - Observation and response skills This class includes seated and standing postures and exercises supported by a chair, as well as floor-based (mat) exercises. Participants should be able to safely transfer from seated to standing, and to/from the floor - the presence and assistance of a caregiver may be required, depending on the individual.
