Based on research from Oregon Health & Science University our training covers the basics of Parkinson’s, safety considerations for exercise instructors and research on the most effective types of activities for people with the disease. Then we’ll hit the gym to teach you how to develop a fun exercise class that targets the mobility problems that occur in Parkinson’s. This training is led by Nate Coomer, PT, DPT, NCS, of the Parkinson’s Fitness Project.
The fundamentals of this training can be applied to just about any type of exercise program. Whether you’re a group fitness instructor or personal trainer, this training can help you work more effectively with people with Parkinson’s. This training is accredited by NASM, AFAA and ACE.
