A great webcast meets you where you are and offers practical advice you can take with you. Maybe you’re ready to rethink parts of your routine, or maybe pain has become harder to ignore. Maybe you’d simply like one good night of sleep or a better meal plan. Wherever you’re starting, our on-demand webcast library puts trusted information within reach any time you need it.
These presentations run for about an hour, but there is no need to watch them in one sitting. Press play when you have time, pause when you need a break, and return whenever a question comes up. Here are three of our most popular webcasts so far. They’re a great place to start!
1. The Pro-21 Diet for Parkinson’s
This illuminating presentation explores a nutrition framework created specifically for people with Parkinson’s. Presenter Laurie Mischley, ND, PhD, MPH, explains how researchers turned findings about food-related behaviors into the PRO-21 approach, and how viewers can begin translating those findings into everyday choices. Dr. Mischley also discusses laboratory testing and supplements worth considering, giving you a fuller picture of the questions you may want to bring to a qualified healthcare professional.
The webcast page also includes Dr. Mischley’s presentation slides, the PRO-PD symptom-tracking app and an Environmental Working Group resource, so you can revisit the material and continue exploring after the video ends. Click here to watch the webcast.
2. Pain and Parkinson’s Disease
This webcast tackles a symptom that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves: Pain. Pain is a non-motor symptom of Parkinson’s that can occur at any stage and may be especially disruptive to everyday life. Dr. Jori Fleisher also examines the different types of pain and the range of approaches used to manage them, because pain isn’t a single experience. Recognizing the unique form it’s taking for you can be an important step toward discussing it with your care providers.
Neurologist Jori Fleisher, MD, MSCE, FAAN, brings expertise in interdisciplinary and supportive care, telemedicine, and peer mentoring. Check out her insights by clicking here.
3. Sleep, Parkinson’s, and RBD
Getting a good night’s sleep is a familiar frustration for everyone, whether you’re living with Parkinson’s or not. Dr. Amy Amara connects sleep concerns with the experience of living with Parkinson’s, examining why restful sleep can be difficult, and introducing REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) as an important part of the conversation. By exploring why sleep changes occur and how you can navigate them, you’ll gain a framework for recognizing the importance of sleep as a measure of health, not simply something to endure until morning.
Presenter Amy Amara, MD, PhD, has experience in both movement disorders and sleep medicine, including an interest in non-drug approaches such as exercise. Watch this presentation when sleep questions are top of mind, share it with a care partner, and revisit it whenever you want a refresher! Sleep can’t wait.
Your webcast library is always open
One of the best things about an on-demand webcast is that it’s always there for you. Watch from home, invite a family member or care partner to join you, pause to take notes, come back next week—or next month—to hear an important point again, whatever fits your needs and your schedule. Participating in the live broadcast will always be exciting, but when you can’t make it, the library is always open. Webcasts are uploaded as soon as they are recorded, so don’t hesitate to check them out!
